Unique Wine Gifts

We are often asked if we can make a recomendation of some type for unique wine gifts especially as the holidays start to come up.

It all starts with, of course, finding a unique and high quality winery and wine to feature. One such winery is Clos Du Val Winery which started with 150 acres in the Stag’s Leap District all the way back in 1972. With a winery owner history closely tied to Bordeaux, you can imagine the refinement and style which has made these wines famous the world over, for the past two generations. These days current production sits around 65,000 cases of wine per year and while critics argue quality is inconsistent, we don’t agree with that implication or thought. Given the size of the winery and the age of their vineyards, they are doing an outstanding job at producing quality wines at relatively affordable price and great quality to price ratios.

Working in My Father’s Wine Store

My dad has got his own wine store. It’s a really nice and old-fashioned wine store with a lot of wood and fireplace in it, they do wine tastings as well with diner and nice things to eat with the different wines. The wine store is well known by people who love drinking wine. When I was younger I worked in the store and cleaned the store after we had a wine tasting. My dad always drinks wine with the family and with friends and he can teach you a lot of different wines.

My really wanted to go to Argentina and taste the lovely wines over there. He loves the Argentina wines and he wanted to see the vineyards in Argentina. He took me on his trip to Argentina just to learn me more about the different tastes, grapes and colours. We went to a lot of wine tasting in Buenos Aires, Mendoza, and Salta. My dad taught me a lot of the perfect wine and food combinations. It was so nice to learn more and more about wines from my dad because he’s really a recipient.

Even my dad learned a lot of our trip in Argentina. He is now looking for the perfect wine and food combinations for his wine store. I’m helping him as well and we are reading so many books about wine and food together. One thing that we are doing in the wine store at the moment is giving asados. This is an Argentina word for a barbecue. We are fully booked for the tasting with the barbecue, I think or trip to Argentina was really fun and really productive as well. I can see that the addicting my dad has for wines are now being given to me.
