When I first opened my physiotherapy practice I wasn’t sure that I would have enough money for the physical therapist assistant salary I would have had to pay if I hired someone to help me with the work. So for the longest time I just worked as hard as I could and just set aside money so that I could make sure that if I signed a contract with an assistant I could honor that contract no matter what happened to my business. So after almost 6 months of difficult work I was able to hire an assistant and I was amazed to find that with her help I was able to actually work so much more and take on so much more patients that I was able to pay her salary and still set aside twice as much as I had been setting aside in the first months. So I need to be honest and admit that I am still not sure what is the correct balance between paid employees and profit but I do know that an assistant can be a God sent in this profession.

The alarm went off this morning like every morning… my eyes opened up and I was ready for the day ahead of my, Well, at least until the moment that I physically tried to roll out of bed.
I was quickly reminded of my muscle burning exercise routine from yesterday. Now don’t get me wrong, I actually enjoy feeling sore the day after a workout… after all that is how I know I am progressing and pushing forward with my women’s strength training routines. But this was insane.
I should have been prepared, I mean my legs were shaking during my workout and I felt like a spaghetti noodle walking back to my car.
But like I said, I enjoy the soreness. If you’re not prepared for a little workout pain then what the heck are you trying to accomplish? If you want to get toned, you want to burn fat and you want to look better each time you see your reflection then it’s what’s got to happen.
And trust me, just because I enjoy waking up and knowing that I did something beneficial doesn’t mean I want to be reminded of it all day. Here are a few of my favorite muscle aching tips to recover faster… and get back to your workout progress!
- Ibuprofen. It’s an anti-inflammatory so it will help decrease your swelling and help with the pain. Always check with your doctor before taking new meds though.)
- Epson salt. Take a bath, relax and toss in some epson salt. You can find it in the first aide section of your drug or grocery stores.
- Rub them out. Get a massage or have your significant other spend some time gently rubbing the sore areas. Another trick is to use a foam roller to help stretch and relax those muscles.
- Stretch. Always stretch at the end of your exercise routines. Stretching has shown to reduce recovery time, increase muscle toning and relieve muscle soreness.
- Anti-inflammatory foods. Eat foods that are proven to help reduce muscle soreness whether through the anti-inflammatory powers or due to their high levels of antioxidants. Examples include: cherries, pomegranates, garlic and honey.

I am so desperate with my life now. It is the inversion table that helps me to dream again and starts me to achieve all my desires. Families of these patients of back pain must not withdraw their support and attention because this worsen the emotional burden of the patients.
